PROJECT NUMBER: 17-1
PROJECT TITLE: Quick Response: New England Connected and Autonomous Vehicles
PRINCIPAL INVESTIGATOR(S) & UNIVERSITY(S): Chris Chaffee, AECOM
The New England Transportation Consortium (NETC) is hosting a webinar on Wednesday, February 26 from 2:00 to 2:45 p.m. ET to share findings from the NETC project New England Connected and Automated Vehicle Efforts. This project looked at considerations for cross-border challenges and developed a roadmap of activities to facilitate the operation of connected vehicles (CVs) and automated vehicles (AVs) in the New England region.
Webinar attendees will learn how New England states can collaborate on CV/AV issues, and how regional coordination can help better educate the public, influence policy, reduce costs, and provide safer roadways. Principal investigator Chris Chaffee of AECOM will discuss the project’s findings, and Ginna Smith Reeder of the I-95 Corridor Coalition will describe regional DOT activities that were motivated by the project. The webinar will conclude with a short Q&A.
- Suzanne Murtha, AECOM (co-principal investigator)
